The Safe Community Coalition of McLean (SCC) is a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental wellness, preventing substance misuse, and fostering healthy decision-making among youth, families, and the broader community. For nearly 30 years, SCC has brought together parents, educators, community leaders, and professionals to provide education, connection, and evidence-based programming that strengthens our community from the inside out.
Through school-based programs, community education, partnerships, and accessible resources, SCC works to ensure that young people and families in McLean have the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive.
At the heart of SCC’s work is collaboration. Our programs are informed and strengthened by a Mental Health Committee made up of local mental health professionals who generously advise SCC and contribute their expertise to community programming on a pro bono basis. Their guidance ensures that SCC’s work remains timely, evidence-based, and responsive to the real needs of youth and families in our community.
